Updating a Template with a New Form
When your forms provider releases a new version of a form, copy the template, replace the document, and re-check the fields so nothing moves.
Forms change. When your forms provider issues an updated version of a document you have templated — a new edition of a Form 6, for example — you don't need to rebuild the template from scratch. Copy the existing template, swap in the new document, and check that the fields still sit where they should.

Working on a copy means your existing template keeps working while you make the change, so a mistake in the new version doesn't disrupt anyone sending from the old one.
Open the template and make a copy
Navigate to Templates, open the template you want to update, click Actions in the upper right corner and select Make a copy. The copy opens in a new tab.
Replace the document
In the copy, click Replace document on the document you want to update and upload the new version of the form. The fields you placed on the original document stay where they are — only the underlying document changes.
Re-check the fields
Click Prepare documents and go through every page. If the new form is like-for-like with the old one, the fields will mostly line up, but check that each text field, signature and date still sits over the right part of the form. Drag any that have drifted back into place and delete any that no longer apply.
Save and remove the old template
Click Save template. Back on the Templates page, open the previous version of the template, click Actions and select Delete template. Your team is now sending from the updated form.
